Two of my students recommended me for a teaching award through a local radio station. I was one of the teacher picked because of the nice things that my students said about me! We got to go to a special dinner and here I am with two of the DJ's. It was a great time!

Okay... life have been way full as of late, and I have not gotten around to blogging. Easter... Family in town... Piper was born... Jett's first Birthday party... Matthew's Graduation... Jett is walking.... I have been bad about posting photos. They will come soon, but it is almost eleven and it is not happening now. Tomorrow is Mother's day and maybe it "life" will slow down so I can post? Soon. :)

Matthew, Jett and I had a great day! Just got home and it is late for us now 9:40. I remember staying out way later, before Jett, but when you get up at the crack of dawn... Jett is fast asleep and I need to change his diaper and put him in the crib without waking him. I will try. Park City was fun and we got Jett his very first red cowboy hat with the white laces!!!! Now, I just need to make the matching vest, with all of my extra time HAHA. Maybe I will make one of my TA's do it at school... haha. Anyway, off to night night.

Well, I have not blogged in some time. Plus I am not much of a writer and some have made comments about my spelling or grammar, so I stopped writing and just added videos/ photos. I have decided that I do not care what some people think and if there is an error then oh well. I am just going to pull the human card on that one.

Lots have happened and so here is some of the play by play. Jett will be a year old in just a few weeks and I am madly trying to get really for it. We are having a cowboy theme and I am getting way to excited about it.

He took his first independent step yesterday while we were in his bedroom. He was playing in the clothing basket and saw a truck outside (they are doing some construction up the road and Jett just loves watching the big trucks... he waves at them as they go by) and trying to walk to the window. One step and he was down, but it did not stop him, he just crawled the rest of the way.... the mail man is at my door... I just got the little cowboy hats and cute things from oriental trading... anyway, no walking today. I know more is to come.

I had to sch his first hair cut... I thought I could trim up the front, so his hair would not go into his eyes... well wrong. Matthew says he looks like a Dutch Boy. So we are off to Cookie Cutters tomorrow for his first cut in a salon. The place look super cute. He will sit in a little car to get his hair cut. I will take photos.

We are awaiting a new addition to the family. Kelly, my sister in law, is having her baby soon. A new little one will be fun. Glad I got another hat for the party... but I might be a little big. Well Jett is up from his map... the 45 mins. a day I can do something like this. He is making his truck sound... he does that now instead of crying.

Summer is coming to an end... back to school ads

I opened the paper on Sunday, and there they were the back to school ads. I know when I see them I have about a month left. I know, at least I get a big chunk of time off, and I am very happy about that! I will be able to spend almost three months with Jett. But remember, even though I love being a teacher and my students are great! They are still Jr High Students... remember how you were in Jr High, now times that by 40+ students. Anyway, here is a great video of Jett being a sucker fish, well that is what I think it looks like.

Out and About in Utah

Matthew, Jett and I have decided to explore some of the local beauty. Cascade Springs was first on the list. It is a great little area with beautiful running springs. The little pools of water actually have brown trout in them. It is a super small eco system, no fishing allowed :) It was a lovely walk filled with lush greenery. Matthew started talking to a photographer we came across on our walk. His name was Wayne, and he is a professional photographer out of California. He was a really great person and was on a photo trip for a month. I loved the fact that he had no set plans and we traveling were the spirit or light moved him. We would love to do that someday. It was a great day! Jett really liked the carrier, because he could look around and see things.

Sleeping... Jett up-date

If you have been following the facebook wall, you know I have been counting the hours at night. Jett has been doing really well, and is starting to sleep more and more. He has been sleeping about seven hours for the last week, and about 4 1/2 last night. He is rolling over in one direction, but not back. He is starting to grab at things, but does not have his time on just for now. He reaches and closes his hand a little off, it is really cute. When he sleeps during the day, he places his hand wide open on both sides of his head... I call it is jazz hands pose. He is baring his own weight when you hold him on his feet, and looking around, holding his head up. So, that is the Jett up-date! Oh, and he is super cute!

Matthew got up at the crack of dawn... well, Jett got us up at the crack, about 4 ish in the morning. Matthew had to get up at 5, so we just stayed up. Well, Matthew went fishing and we went back to bed. He went out with our good friend John and had a great time. He caught a fish and John gave him one of his. Matthew's is the bigger fish in the picture. John gets a fish but then releases them back into the water. We used Jett the figure out the size of the fish, well Jett is 22 + inches. Anyway, he had fun.

It was a very rainy day on Thur... which was great because no one was in the Capitol Building. We had the place to ourselves. It was Matthew and Jett's first time there. Here are some shots... oh the one of Matthew jumping, well we got there kinda late, which is our style, and Matthew was trying to look through all the windows. I think that window was the governor's office. I love that about him.

Air Show at the Provo Airport

We had a great time on Monday! We went to the Provo Air Port to watch a B-17 and a B-24 fly in. So we got there at 9:45, but the B planes had some problems. They did not come in till about 11 almost 12. Anyway, we got to see all the planes in the hangers and the aircrafts that they use for the UVU flight school. It was Jett's first air show, but I do not think he will remember it being two mo.s old. Matthew had a great time. He was very excited to watch the B-17/B-24 land, it was interesting to think that these planes have been working and in service for almost 70 years. We meet a WWII vet that was on the B-17, he name was Wayne. It was really interesting to get his first hand account of the war. Jett was really tired from the air show... I love his little plane T.

Woohoo! I'm in New York!

On Sunday I woke up late and missed the hotel breakfast. So I went down the street to a really nice Korean bakery and got some great croissants and some espresso. It was way better then the hotels. I should have woke up late every day.

One of my best buddies Sara came out from New York to visit us! Mostly to see Jett, well of course he is the bomb! We had a great visit and really had a relaxed time. We went to our Strawberry days block party, Sundance and John's lunch shop and that was about it. The rest of the time, we just hung out! It was great! I miss Sara already... thanks Sara for the visit, Matthew, Jett and I loved it!

We had a great first Father's day... way mellow, because Matthew was working on papers for his finals next week. He is a great father! I really love how he always props Jett up and watches him. Matthew can always get Jett to smile, way more then me. So here are my two fave men in the world!

Not the best week...appendicitis

Well, this has been a hard week. First, I had my appendix out on tue about 4am. Long story, but it went okay and I am okay just a lot of discomfort. The pain meds are great, just make me really sleepy and so I cannot really take them when I am taking care of Jett. Anyway, I can now play connect the dots on my stomach. You have to find a laugh in everything. Jett is great, and being a good baby. Matthew has been great taking care of both of us. Kelly was a great help watching Jett for us, and Mary C. too. Takes to all of you for offering help, it is a great knowing that people care. Oh, thanks Mom for making me go to the doc! Plus, I really like using the work great.

PS- If you need anything done, AF Hos is the best!

Well, like all new mommies... my blog has revolved around Jett, and I am very proud of my little man. Anyway, everyone has been asking about how I am doing. Well, I am still not as active as I am use too, but I fell good and although I do not get as much done, I am getting what I can. Moms would know what I am talking about, for example I got some flowers for Mother's Day from Matthew and I have been meaning to plant them. I just got to it on Thur of this week... well, it only took me the complete day to finish planting six small pots and a few big ones. For the most part it was trying to do thing between feedings and diaper changes. Welcome to motherhood right. With that said, it is feeding time again! Thinks for all of your good thoughts and concern. Love you all, c.

Great Grandpa and Grandma Visit

We had a great surprise over the Memorial Day weekend. Grandma Helen and Grandpa Jim came into town. They just came off a killer road trip and decided to wrap up there vacation with a stop in Utah. Jett got to meet his first set of Grant Grand Parents which was very cool. I just wish that everyone was closer so he could see more family, but we really enjoyed the visit. We had a BBQ at Kelly and Ryan's for Memorial Day, and took this photo that day. Hope everyone had a great and thought filled day.

I just love naked baby! Well, he has his diaper on. Jett is gaining some LB's. He is about 8 plus pounds now. I just love his Buddha belly. He is already holding up his head and looking around for short periods. He is very strong for a little guy! Oh, if you know about newborn diapers, yes that is a blue line, which means yes he went pee pee.

My three weeks of help... Mom went home yesterday, and I miss her a bunch already. It was great spending time with her. It has been about ten plus year that we have been able to spend time together like that. She make a wonderful new grandmother, plus she really helped me out being a new mom. Tear tear... Jett will miss her too.
